Yokote Kamakura Snow Festival is held yearly in Akita.

Kamakura or snow domes are made in various sizes during this festival.

This winter it will fall on the 15th and 16th of February 2020.

To have an idea of what to expect, I had the chance to visit the Kamakura Hall where they preserved a kamakura (snow dome).

The room temperature is kept at -10 degrees all year round so anyone can experience it any season.

The Kamakura Hall is located next to Yokote City Office. 

I will write more about this when I go back to visit on February.
